Remote Control

Remote Control is an optional module for Ivanti Avalanche that allows administrators to create an accurate view of what is happening on mobile devices. Remote Control is a solution designed primarily for remote helpdesk. Administrators can easily support mobile users anywhere in the field without having physical access to the devices. Remote Control is used to assist end-users in troubleshooting application or mobile device issues, reducing problem resolution time and increasing productivity.

Statistics show that between 30% and 40% of devices sent for repair actually have no defects and the problem is due to misconfiguration or an under-charged battery. With Remote Control, devices are sent in for repair less frequently and the time the user is unable to use the device is reduced.
Avalanche Remote Control is preferably used for pilot installations of new projects where users need more frequent help with control. Remote Control includes the ability to record a sequence of keystrokes and actions on the touch screen and replay them later to perform certain common actions. Simultaneous access by multiple remote users to a single mobile device is also supported. Full remote access to the system registry and file system of the mobile device is an integral part of the solution.
Remote Control can be used on local Wi-Fi networks as well as over mobile data.

Remote Control Features

Administrator sees the same as mobile device user

Avalanche Remote Control allows the administrator full access to the mobile device. They can see exactly what is happening on the remote display.

Scripting

Remote Control allows you to record keystroke and touch sequences and later play them back on a selected device.

Rapid viewing and optimization for connection

The refresh rate in Remote Control is adjustable up to 18 frames per second, allowing the system to adapt to the speed of the connection. Additional options include real-time compression of transmitted images and the ability to adjust colour depth. This is especially beneficial with slower connectivity via mobile data. Time limits for different latency sizes can be defined for each connection type.

Intuitive file manager

File Manager included in Remote Control makes it easy to browse the hierarchical directory structure on your mobile device, add, delete and rename files and folders. It also supports drag-and-drop operations.

Remote reboots

With Remote Control, you can remotely reboot or put your mobile device to sleep. The administrator also has access to the running process manager, including the ability to remotely terminate processes.

Logging and skins

A log of remote accesses to mobile devices is accessible from the console. A configurable graphical interface allows you to customize the appearance of the remote desktop with skins for devices from a variety of manufacturers. The administrator's remote work is then the same as if he had the device physically in his hand. Remote Control also includes a Keymap editor for creating and editing custom fully functional skins.

Ivanti Avalanche integration

Remote Control is fully integrated into the Ivanti Avalanche mobile device management system and allows direct control of its individual capabilities directly from the Avalanche console.

Mobile device status

Avalanche Remote Control provides information about the current mobile device status. The administrator can check the current status of memory, battery and backup, operating system version, etc.

Cross-platform support

Avalanche Remote Control can be used on a wide range of devices from a variety of manufacturers. Windows CE, Windows Mobile, Windows Desktop and Android platforms are supported.
