On January 21st, 2013 Motorola Solutions release a new typ of a vehicle terminal - VC70N0 with Windows Embedded Compact 7 Professional. Motorola VC70N0 is built on the success of the VC5090 series with its enhancements in performance and size-optimized rugged construction with focus in the warehouse, manufacturing and distribution operations.
Motorola launched a new cost effective 802.11n dual radio access point AP-6522. This access point was released as a replacement of dual radio AP-5131 which is EOL. Access point AP-6522 is ideal for small shops, retail stores, restaurants, warehouses or offices providing Wi-Fi access on 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz simultaneously. AP-6522 can be powered over standard 802.3af POE or an external power supply. AP-6522 is built on Motorola's Wi-NG 5 architecture; it contains an on-board AAA RADIUS, 2-7 stateful packet filtering firewall and VPN gateway. AP-6522 can be used independently or as an AP controlled by Motorola RF controller (RFS40xx, RFS6000, RFS7000, NX9000 or NX9500). In addition AP-6522 can manage other 24 APs of the same type in the mode of Virtual Controller. AP-6522 can be also configured as a sensor of Motorola ADSP 9.0 wireless intrusion protection system. AP-6522 is offered in plastic housing with integrated antenna or in metal plenum rated housing with 4 external antennas connectors.
Motorola introduces a new access point AP8132. The AP8132 is a 3-spatial stream device delivering data rates up to 450 Mbps per radio. The first-of-its-kind modular Wi-Fi access point combined with Motorola’s Wi-NG 5 technology delivers an outstanding quality experience for wireless users with smartphones and tablets.
The AP8132’s flexibility increases because of an integrated standard USB interface for an expansion module connectivity. The first module available in 2013 should be an ADSP sensor for dedicated security monitoring allowing the use of integrated AP radios for dual band client access.
The AP8132 continues Motorola’s tradition of offering one of the best performing radios in its class, giving strong output power capabilities. Both radios within the AP are band-unlocked radios to enable 24x7 dual band Wireless IPS sensing on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz with concurrent 802.11a/b/g/n client access and mesh. Additionally the AP8132 features an onboard TPM chip which can increase the security and reliability of the device. The AP8132 is designed to run off 802.3at, but can be configured to run off 802.3af power, allowing installations to gain the throughput of a 3-stream AP, without immediately needing to upgrade the wired network to support higher power.
At release the AP8132 will run Wi-NG release 5.2.6, and will be compatible with al RFS controllers as well as the NX9000 and NX9500 series Integrated Services Platforms.
In Q4/2012 Motorola Solutions will introduce the WT41N0 and RS419; the evolution to Motorola's current Wearable Mobile Computer and Ring Scanner product lines targeted for warehousing applications. The WT41N0 offers the most power of any device in its class, with a dual core processor and an operating system that can take advantage of both processors - Windows Embedded Compact 7, Microsoft’s latest mobile operating system. Combined with 2 GB Flash memory and support for 802.11a/b/g/n wireless LANs, the WT41N0 delivers the processing power and network throughput required to deliver consistent, lightning-fast application performance and reliability.
The small and lightweight RS419 Ring Scanner based on SE965 scan engine combines hands-free all-day comfort, the latest in laser scanning technology and a rugged design for everyday dependable operation, indoors and outdoors up to -30 °C. Motorola's patented Adaptive Scanning technology automatically toggles between a wide and narrow scan angle until a bar code is detected, so users can zoom in on bar codes as far as 15 ft/4.5 m and zoom out to capture bar codes at near contact. WT41N0 will be available in touch or non-touch display versions and as a Voice-Only Wearable for voice applications without the display. Wavelink Telnet Client will be pre-licensed and pre-installed on WT41N0.
Motorola released a new Wi-NG 5 802.11a/b/g/n Access Point AP622. It is a dual radio Dependent AP, that means it needs to work together with Motorola Wi-NG 5 RF controller (Wi-NG 5.2.3 or 5.3). Radios of AP622 can be configured for client access on 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz or independently used with one radio for client access and the second radio for ADSP sensing. Unlike AP621 that is offered with plastic housing only, AP622 is manufactured either with plastic housing (internal antenna model) or metal housing (external antenna model, 4 SMA-RP connectors).
Motorola Solutions launched a new major release of the Mobility Services Platform v 4.0 (MSP 4.0). This launch of MSP 4.0 introduces a substantial set of new features, which includes support for consumer-grade mobile devices, smart phones and tablets. MSP 4.0 has been extended to support Apple iOS class of devices, iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad device. Additionally, support has been extended to Google Android v2.2 or later smart phones including v3.0 tablets.
Motorola announced end of sale of their VC6000 terminals (without Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity) on January 30th, 2012. At the same time they announced 2nd April, 2012 as a date of VC6090 release. This new type of terminal will utilize 802.11a/b/g radio and will be focused on the use on vehicles and industrial forklift trucks. Thus VC6090 will be a smaller and lightweight alternative to existing Motorola VC5090 robust industrial vehicle terminals.
Early 2012 Motorola Solutions will release a new type of mobile terminal - MC2100. Motorola positions the MC2100 under the MC3100 while adding more features than the MC1000. With a touch panel, more memory, faster processor, larger color touch screen, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and many more features, this MC2100 is a great choice while maintaining an affordabile price point.
